In the letter Jesus wrote to the church of Laodicea, he immediately accuses the congregation of his lukewarm faith. He blames the congregation by "spitting" it out of his mouth. Christ rebukes this church for allowing the people of Laodicea to go spiritually bankrupt because of their economic prosperity. He explains that even if they are economically prosperous, they can provide spiritual wealth.
